Hofgut Falkenstein Niedermenniger Herrenberg Rose 2023

If you thought the Rieslings from this estate were rarer than hens' teeth, then you can imagine how rare the Rose must be. Famous for crafting ultra-traditional Rieslings, Erich and Johannes Weber also produce some delicious Pinot Noir, both red and rose, though not much is available, as Riesling remains the signature grape here.

The average vine age in the Webers' vineyards is between 40 and 50 years, with the oldest vines ranging from 60 to 90 years. Niedermenniger Herrenberg is a slightly warmer site, making it ideal for growing Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) in the typically cooler pockets of the Saar.

This is a serious rose- honest, edgy, and to the point. Bright red fruited notes of cranberry, wild strawberries, and raspberries, combined with Alpine herbs and a stony character, are all backed by a precise, refreshing acidity.
