Weingut Martin & Anna Arndorfer, Gruner Veltliner Strasser Weinberge 2022

Special vineyard sites and old vines are the foundation of what Anna and Martin call their character wines. These are wines with a strong personality that combine elegance and depth. They reflect the character of their individual vineyards and the personality of the people working the land. These wines are, in effect, vineyard reserves from the best vineyards in Strass. The Gruner is based on grapes selected from three vineyards: Strasser Gaisberg, Wechselberg and Hasel, each producing grapes which are totally different in style and taste as a result of their diverse soils and microclimates. Here the prime focus is to preserve the purity of the fruit with plenty of Trinkfluss but without compromising on their complexity and ageing potential. This Gruner matured for 11 months in large wooden barrels and was bottled without filtration. The result is a naturally cloudy, mineral and elegant wine.
